Longings

We all have pursuits. We may pursue an advancement in a job, or we may pursue higher education, or we may pursue more wealth or friendships. It is so important to understand the deep longings that are behind those pursuits. We may long for comfort, for significance, for rest, for love. Just as there are longings behind every pursuit there are idols behind every idol. In order to overcome sin, we must identify the idol behind the idol. We must identify the deep, internal problem, perhaps a misplaced longing, that causes the destructive outward behavior. Watch for more.
